Western Lake Peninsula

Western Lake Peninsula, 8 x 10
sold

Another poor photo, but the painting I like. This is the inlet that welcomes everyone to Watercolor from the west. I liked theses five trees and the reeds and grasses that grow out with them. The ocean lies right behind the far trees and the dunes in the distance.

Hi Julie,

I love this. It feels like the south of France and California rolled into one. It's lovely how one place can be evocative of another.

Happy painting. Your work is lovely.

This is wonderful! The reflections of the trees absolutely make the painting soar! Nice job.

You make me want to come to Watercolor - I mean just the name of that place is compelling! This is so beautiful - great scale shift, wonderful simple shapes that perfectly express those trees, fab reflections... love it.

I love your last 3 paintings. Your greens are beautiful. The orange and blue in this make for a fabulous painting. Love your compositions.

Thank you, all! The greens are always a challenge, but that's part of the fun. I like the composition of this one in particular, and kept referencing back to it on all the subsequent paintings I did on our trip.
