Weathered Barn

Weathered Barn, 6 x 6

Can't seem to get a handle on my summer schedule, but, then, that's the beauty of summer, right? No schedule? The heat is overwhelming, so I'm painting from various photos I have, this one from the Granbury trip. A barn off of a main highway into Granbury....liked the looks of it but we were there the wrong time of day--no shade, few shadows, and too hot without the shade.

Hi Julie,

You always produce a lovely painting, and this is no exception. There really is no wrong time of day, as this painting proves.

Looks great, Julie. And you're right, the heat is getting brutal down here.

I remember this stop... AND the skinny roadside with no shade!!! Nice job - I love the edges!

Wonderful painting! Love the very quick horizontal strokes and your use of so many greens. The loose edges where the trees meet the sky are the magic for me.

Both barn compositions are winners but I do love your big skies. Reminds me of another painting you did a while back... from a vacation? around a park?... that had 3 very distinct horizontal bands with the top one being a big sky. It really stuck with me. Wonderful!
