Hot Day, Cold Water

Hot Day, Cold Water, 6 x 6
sold

By the end of this day painting I was gritty and thought I probably smelled like a little boy who had been playing outside.....it was hot, but the water was cold and perfect for wading.  I painted this one yesterday, and today's will be up tomorrow.  The week always ends up filled with 6 am paintings!

Your painting absolutely depicts a hot day. Your colors are so clear and precise. Very lovely painting!

Hi Julie,

I love this one. It was hot here today too. Toronto usually goes from full winter directly into hot summer. But tomorrow it will be cool again, and I'm glad. I used to paint in the kitchen too when I did watercolour. Then we renovated our kitchen and basement, putting lots of light in the kitchen for me, but when the TV went downstairs, so did the family, and I took over the rarely used living room and dining room for my studio.
It's still cramped for large work, but I love having a space that no one else wants.

Your paintings are beautiful, and your passion for art shines through.

Thank you, Barbara. Now we're socked in with rain for the week....that's good, though, since we're in a drought. So there will be more "kitchen studio" paintings....Your kind words are always a bright spot in my day!

Julie, I am getting extremely encouraged by your example from watching your progress with your landscapes. Your hard work is definitely paying off! I love your colors and unblended brushstrokes. Super super super.
