Noon Siesta

Noon Siesta, 6 x 6
sold

This is the only place for cattle to be during the heat of a Texas summer--in the shade of an oak grove. I'd assumed these were taking a nap as well. Sometimes, that's the best way to handle the heat....just ignore it until it goes away.

Or you can constantly whine about it like I do! This is a great piece!

You're too funny--and you were painting snow at your last post! Hey, whatever it takes to get through it!!!

Hi Julie,

This is wonderful. People in Toronto are wondering when they'll get some heat. I think we are so lucky that it's cool.

You ARE lucky! Though I'm sure I couldn't handle the winters there. :)

Hi Julie,

You could handle winter with snow tires and a down coat. Winter is lovely too. And children and dogs positively adore winter.

Love this Julie. You've captured that hot, lazy afternoon feeling perfectly. I like the way you indicated the cows with very little detail and the yellows in the foreground are beautifully thick.
