A Fresh Start

A Fresh Start, 12 x 9

Yesterday our class went out to Lost Creek again here in Austin--the greens are popping everywhere and I was a bit overwhelmed with the hue of them. This tree in particular must have just leafed out last week--a true fresh start.

This is wonderful, Julie, Love the gray tones in the grasses and the wonderful edges on the leaves.

Julie, this is beautiful. Sometimes greens can be overwhelming. You have taken all those greens in the foreground and background and painted them beautifully. Plus the touches of blues and violets on the ground are nice. Lost Creek must be a wonderful area to paint. I'll have to bring my paints next time I am in Austin!

How easy it is to "read" the seasons in your paintings, Julie. I love the immediacy that you achieve in this way. A lovely fresh springlike painting!

For once we are on a weather wavelength, although that is probably not a good sign. Magnolias are not supposed to flower until mid-May here and they're coming out now. What a perfect painting of a newly leafed tree. And you are a super painter of trees.
