Uncompromising Terrain

Uncompromising Terrain
9 x 12 in., oil on panel

Trees in Big Bend are few and far between, but in one higher altitude area, they are in abundance, neighboring kindly with various cacti, grasses, and scrub brush. At this point in the trip, I was thrilled to see anything green, and found it appealing to play the pinks, purples, and reds against it.

Love this one! And great title... that terrain is demanding and uncompromising. But thank goodness the mountain lions stayed away... :)

Beautiful in every way. I've spent some time in environments like this and you captured the colors so well.
