Wimberly Ranch

Wimberly Ranch, 9 x 12

I'm always focused improving on a particular technique or subject while painting. I'm not sure when that stops and one can simply paint with abandon.... Today I again was exploring foreground. I did learn a few things, or at least had an "aha" moment or two.

And along with that awesome foreground is an incredible background; very, very nice, Julie!

I go through the same thing! When the abandon happens..it is so brief that I wish I could keep it forever...beautiful painting

The foreground in this is very successful.

Hi Julie
I do this all the time...every painting is a learning experience for me (I have so much to learn!) and I wonder when I will just be able to paint. This painting is lovely...your values are great and the foreground has a lot of interest.
