Daybreak's Solitude

Daybreak's Solitude, 12 x 16in.

Here is a larger version of my last post. I changed the tree-line from the study to make it less uniform, and made some other alterations in color and composition. This one is in the Davis Gallery (no relation) show in April. Please stop by for the opening on April 9 from 7-9p.m. if you have the chance!

Beautiful and peaceful. Gorgeous colors and I have tree envy:) I really like how you changed them up. Your blues are stunning.

Julie:
Great painting. I really like the dark shadows of this piece. I get your daily emails, and you keep getting better. I think anyone who keeps working at their craft, can only get better. Wonderful paintings, and I look forward to seeing more your new work. Maybe one day I will have some extra money and be able to purchase one of your paintings.

Wonderfully calming, Julie, and I like the tweaks in the treeline. Hope you include this in your April show.

Beautiful composition. Love the darks of the trees.

Great composition. Love the soft yellows and touch of mauve in the foreground. It really has that "early morning" feel to it.

Really enjoyed catching up with your latest landscapes. I so like the way you use paint so each stroke has its own integrity and your restrained sense of color. The texture is visible in the images but I'd love to see your paintings in person.
