Family Farm

Family Farm
6 x 8 in., oil on panel
sold

I played with the paint in this little study.  I really like the "intentional accidents" that occur when I use my palette knife.  I use it almost as much as I use my brushes throughout my paintings lately.  I think that's part of the fun of oils--manipulating them rather than simply "coloring" with them.

Lovely painting with an active surface and great color. I agree with you on the fun of painting with oils and a palette knife.

Julie, I just love this! It reminds me so much of some of the farms in Western Washington. What beautiful palette knife work.

Hi Julie,

I am so behind, you have turned out one marvel after another since I last visited. Beautiful.

Great painting. I like the format, 6x8, and the use of palette knifes.
