Hillside Drive

Hillside Drive, 6 x 8

It's great to be blogging again after such a long break. The kids are finally back in school (one started high school), and things are getting settled. I painted this one in Hunt just before we picked the girls up from camp earlier this month--after this I didn't paint for three weeks....that one I'll post tomorrow. I did wonder if the time "off" would be disastrous.....but it actually wasn't--whew!

Obviously your time off didn't hurt a bit! This is lovely! I like the roof on the little house and the colors in the path. Now that I am looking at it even closer it reminds me of a path my sister and I would follow at my grandparent's farm in Gustine. I love this!

Very nice painting Julie. I always love a road or path leading into a painting. You just want to get on it see where it's going. Glad you enjoyed your summer.

This is great, Julie. Love the sense of depth and changing ground plane on the right. Very convincing.

Really nice job on your botaical garden piece, too

Okay, when will yours (and Laurel's) Salt Lick pictures be posting? I didn't get to see 'em yesterday. I didn't know y'all were having show & tell until I was already pulling out of the parking lot. I'll be expecting another post soon.

Just had a stroll through your blog - beautiful paintings! And I agree with Barbara in regard to your trees - they have definitely inspired me for future tree paintings, too!
