Behind the Scenes

Behind the Scenes, 6 x 8

I've been working like a dog preparing for my show next weekend (14th, 15th) in Ashland at Weisinger's Winery (not on painting, but on framing, paperwork, marketing, etc.). It's become so out of the ordinary for me not to paint/post daily, that I feel terribly rusty! Anyway, this was my shot at painting this morning. It's another stab at the barn behind the winery. Painting it in person next week will be a highlight for me.

The show is called "Twenty-Four : Points of View," and is a collection of twenty-four landscapes and still lifes, most of which have starred on my blog at some point. I'll take some photos and post them after the dust has settled. Meanwhile, we get our girls from camp tomorrow (!) and I'm full speed ahead.....

Congrats on your upcoming show. I am sure it will be amazing and I can't wait to see the pictures. And this is a good one ... I like it!

Julie, I love the looseness of this one (especially the wonderful representation of the barn), as well as the large areas of both shadow and light.

And congratulations on your show! Your work, twenty-four pieces all in one venue, will look fantastic.

Julie, congrats on the show! Wonderful to have that much of your work in one place! I really like the vantage point of being above this scene. Well done!

Love those wonderful cool shadows on the barn next to the warms in the road.

Congrats on the show! Look forward to the pics.

Hi Julie,

I've really missed seeing your work. I had such limited computer time when I was away, that it was just post and run. This is lovely.
