Near the Water, 6 x 8

I haven't posted the others yet, but this is the last painting I did during Jill Carver's workshop. We were near Salado Creek (big water and tree vistas) a lot, and I gravitated toward something simpler at the end of the three days--we were all tired from absorbing so much good information, and the sun takes its share as well. But, what a treat, and what a week!

So glad you had a great time - you will be chewing on that info and finding ways to apply it for a long time.
Hi Julie. Your paintings from Jill's workshop are wonderful! It's exciting to come across your work and to learn of your artist friends. I was in the area last summer; did lots of plein air; had in-depth girl/artist time with Carol on a camping/painting trip; and even got to know my way around Austin a bit! Carol and I tried to hook up with Virginia and Robin, but the timing wasn't right. I have a clear memory of what the heat will do to you there. It's a challenge to push through to the end for sure. I wish I had known of ya'll before my visit- it'd have been a blast. Maybe next time.
Hi Julie:
It was very nice to meet you at Jill's workshop. One of the things I like most about workshops is meeting new artists, especially talented ones like you. You did some great work this week. I will be checking back regularly and add a link on my blog so others can visit you as well.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Rusty. I agree about half the fun is meeting other artists, and this was such an impressive group, it was a treat being a part of it. I look forward to keeping up.
Sally--next time you're in town I'd love to meet you. Sounds like you all had a great time--it's hard not to when you're around such talented people!
