Tree Lines

Tree Lines
6 x 8 in., oil on panel
sold

As with my post from Tuesday, "objects in blog are not as vivid as they appear." I have got to get my camera sorted out--the photos I'm taking are in technicolor, and I haven't changed anything.  The auto-focus, however, has not worked, so I'm perplexed.  I'm bound for the camera shop.  This little piece is a relative of "Compatible," in that they're both from the same area of the Irish countryside.

Compatible

Compatible
9 x 12 in., oil on panel
available, $800

I painted this piece in the studio last fall.  Though I did nothing to alter the photo, the painting is really a bit more muted in person.  On our visit to Ireland I did as much studying of the landscape as I could get away with on a family vacation--including taking tons of photos.  This was taken in one of the rare moments of sunshine we experienced.

Adare Castle

Adare Castle
9 x 12, oil on panel
sold

Adare Castle is one of the pieces I had in the Collective Chemistry show at Davis Gallery this month--it sold to a dear friend who thoughtfully surprised his wife with it at Christmas.  When we were in Ireland this summer, we stayed across the River Maigue from this medieval castle--near Adare in Country Limerick.   It's inspiring and frankly, amazing, that a 13th century structure still stands so imposingly.

Successful Holiday Show

Irish Barn
9 x 12 in., oil on panel
available, $800

Davis Gallery put on a festive opening reception Saturday night -- everything looked great and I'm delighted to report that I sold four of the five paintings I had on the wall! The above piece was one of them. Below are a few photos from the evening. Thank you to all friends and patrons who came by--that always means more than you know!
